Behind the name: generations of fishermen, from the village of Flookburgh, have gathered cockles from the treacherous sands around the Cartmel Peninsula. Pair this beer with mussels, oysters and, of course, cockles!

Behind the name: The River Eea winds a beautiful path down the Cartmel Valley and out into Morecambe Bay. Pronounced to rhyme with ‘ear’, the name is thought to have been derived from a Viking word for Eel and these fascinating creatures can sometimes be seen from the bridges that span the river where it runs through Cartmel village.
